Anyone out there have any cures for this, I am in screaming agony at the moment, its been building up for about 2 weeks now, and last night was the worst, slept only about 30 mins. Ended up going for a walk in the frost, well its a frozen shoulder so thought the cold might help.
Have read on the internet that its virtually incurable and will fade in time, around 2 years!!!!, but I did read there are some herbal remedies that may work, so if you know of any, please tell me.

Hi red,
No, no cure as such. I have had something similar from a severe falls, on where there was even suspected rotator cuff problems.
Time will be your friend. And yes, nothing less than two years. Sorry to say, it generally takes more.
But go see a sports physical therapist, as they specialise in that type of injury. They can work on your shoulder in appropriate manner, and provide you with the right exercises that will help it along the way.
Herbal remedies will help in so far as help reduce inflammation. Arnica is good for that. In fact, I have some cream handy for when I get occasional twinges after some more strenuous physical work. It is Arnica cream by Hilda Hemmes Herbals. She is a world renowned German trained herbalist, based here in the city where I live in Australia. But you should be able to find her products or something of similar high grade and purity. I will look up her book and see if there is something else as well that maybe you can drink as a tea or other herbal product of hers to help reduce the inflammation and help healing process.
gorgeous210: Arnica cream will treat mild inflamtion only.. How is a steroid injection a temporary measure?? It is the treatment of choice for frozen shoulder.
I think your both right, my Dr has said he will inject steroids as a last resort. but he wants to see if time will allow my shoulder to "Heal itself", I will ask Australia1 to get me some of that cream Venere, she is returning to Aus next month so hope she can find some.
And in response to Conrad and the others, thank you for the support and advice, I will never laugh at someone who complains of Frozen shoulder again, I had no idea pain could be so excruciating.
I believe there is no know cause, but it has been suggested that old injuries and or diabetics can be a trigger, I am type 2 diabetic and guess I have had to much sweet things over Christmas, had I known this could be a result I would have had bread and water , but when your spending Christmas in Italy, what do you do, food is more important than air to Italians and I just wanted to fit in

Glucosomine and Chondroitin used together will work over time (about a year). I guy in my die design class takes all kinds of herbs and over the counter stuff and he swears by them. But he's been taking these things every day for the last 5 years.
Even though it hurts, keep moving it. You need to keep the muscles stretched and loose to allow blood flow to the cartilage.
No blood flow = dead tissue = cartilage loss = more pain.

Just don't sit so close to the freezer and close the door!

My mother had that...and the only thing that worked and that was just temporary...were cortizone shots....I know it's painful..she finally ended up having to have her shoulder manipulated (have the calcium broken up) before it got better...they put you out to do it and its just like a day procedure....

Well, it was certainly not prescribed to me. I guess it depends on whose choice it is. And it would not have been mine, had it been suggested.

Australia1 will easily find them. Hilde Hemmes products are sold world wide, and most definitely Australia wide. Most pharmacies here have a sizeable natural health section and definitely all good health stores will stock her products.
She can even give Hilde Hemmes' premises a call, and they will be able to suggest the appropriate range of herbs. All the best.
