I know,I was referring to the E-Mail,which infers that it originated with Microsoft or Symantec,neither of which adheres to that practice,so if you get an E-Mail with files from M$ it's most likely a Virus,or will point you to some Malware.It was send to me in the Dutch language.

i suggest u scan your pc with malwarebytes antimalware which is pretty good at detecting and deleting virus sent by e-mail its free and can be got on SOFTPEDIA

Exactly. In general any "virus warning" that arrives as an email and says "warn your friends" is a hoax.
However, any email, including the virus warning email, can carry a virus, especially if they have attatchments that have to be opened.
Neither Norton, nor McAfee, nor AOL nor any valid antivirus site will ever send out warnings intended to be forwarded from person to person.
That is, in fact, a very good way to spread viruses.
Be scared, very scared, or buy an Apple mac....I have Norton running in the background, and I never have problems...

Malware has been written for the Apple as well....touch woody..
But if a Hacker says I have just infected a Dozen Mac Computers,he'll be laughed out of the Trade.
It's just not "Economical " to write Malware for them.
The Criminal Enterprises using Computers-Malware to distribute Spam,Denial Of Service,stealing Personal Information,need Volume,something Apple just hasn't got.
