When I was younger, was very attracted to older men.

Over 8 years ago went out with a guy 10 and three quarters years younger than me.

Now would only go out with a guy around my own age. I think.

Wouldn't do a younger guy again.

Too immature in my experience.

I find I am naturally attracted to older guys. However I guess what it comes down to is attractions. I do not think I could date a younger guy, life experience is important wave

You got that in one, age does not matter at all, it is intelligence and maturity that matter. I found a new word for it. "Cognisance" that is what is important.thumbs up

If they're young enough that I could have given birth to them then I draw the line and the other end of the scale if they are old enough to be my father then I draw the line to, but never say never you can't tell who you fall for. There are some very mature young men on this site and some older men who could do with growing up so I think its more to do with the person.teddybear

I agree with you PT, being in congruence with oneself, is the only way to be!

fascinating - i used to have "intellectual" on my profile but i took it off because someone told me it sounded pompous and would put people off... you can't win. i would like to have "looking for someone with an intelligent outlook" but people often think, wrongly, that that means you have to be highly qualified.

well if you have a brain and an opinion then you cant help that, you are supposed to describe yourself in the profile.

i agree... you are who you are so its not up to anyone else to tell you what to put in your profile... there are many forms of intellect and that comes out later on when u talk to someone but by putting it on your profile doesnt mean pompous.... not to me anyway... JMO wave

Good morning everyone. I tend to go for older men. I like a man who knows what he's doing and where he's going. I also highly vaue education and intelligence. "Intellectual" would not be a turn off for me...quite the opposite in fact. However I hate people (men or women) who talk down to me as if I am thick.

In response to:
often instead of the crap some people go on with id prefer silence. i like someone who can be comfortable with that and dont feel the need to talk all the time.

so glad, thought that was just me.
i'd disappoint on the politics front though - i might be middle-aged but i still want to rip the head off the system although i suppose i'm more of an armchair socialist these days, don't think i've been on a demo since my son was born...

It is more the person...the oldest I went out with was 32 and I was 20...did not feel the difference much. I am open to an age gap. Older men can be appealing. I would draw the line somewhere at 38 or 39 unless it was something special. I want someone who is mature though.wine
