I'm not aying that I don't like Soccer, but why not like football? Things they have in common:
1.) ball
2.) two teams
3.) goal
4.) sweaty men

whats not to love?

What is the point of the game....to CRUSH people. You hate American Football, but prefer the adult version of KICKBALL? LMAO......So many diverse requirements of individual players in American Football as opposed to "chase the ball"....."kick the ball"....."butt the ball with your head" LMAO.......that looks really exciting...like watching grass grow....or paint dry. That having been said, I will take the polar opposite stance and say that I Hate Soccer......what's the point?head banger

That it's made so they can play tomorrow, but i love the way soccer players dance after the goal, they just need a tutu.

Field sports?

Rugby with as few rules as possible, lots of hard hitting. Mud and snow.

Sort of the way the old Green Bay Packers roughed it out, lots of mud and snow and not alot of fancy protection.

Hockey has some good contacting.

Downhill ski racing get you the good fall once and a while. Few broken legs.

Cycling in the mountains with no guard rails at 50 pmh and some falls also toughens you up a bit.

Men are not men without a few hard knocks and scars. No rules Rugby will do it allright in a snowstrom.

Self Preservation......that's what the pads are for. How many RUGBY players are getting paid like American Football Players? Why would you want to get hurt? Why does a baseball player wear a batting helmet. Why did Knights wear armor? To Live to Fight another day. Why do boxers wear gloves?

The only thing that bugs me about Soccer is that there is no real contact encouraged, yeah they cross the legs and smash eachother once and a while, but unlike Hockey, Rubgy and American Old-style football, contact and hard hitting just aren't encouraged.

Maybe we Americans are just a bit rougher with the outdoors. I grew up playing a form of Rubgy called Killerball, no rules, hard hitting, a cross between Boxing with no gloves and Rubgy at about 7 degrees above zero. Lots of fun.

Toughens a young man up.
