I bit the bullet and submitted my first poem to poetry magazine. Unfortunately I have to wait up to 8 weeks to find out if I stink or not laugh
I also can't post it here because it's against their rules of submission. I'm kind of nervous about it but I'm sure 8 weeks from now I won't even remember submitting it. I'll give you a little hint though. It was inspired by a member of this site.

Good luck, Ooby. I wish you well with that. And a hint for remembering is to write it on a calendar. wine

Well done, ooby!

And remember, even if they don't accept your poem, it doesn't mean it 'stinks'. After all, J.K. Rowling's book, 'Harry Potter' was rejected by about a dozen publishers until she found the one who knew better. The others must still be on heavy meds!laugh

All the best!

For you gorgeous!

If you click on that link don't be startled by the image of the guy with the "Oil Can Harry" mustashe, it's just the govenor of IL. What a sleeze, I knew he was corrupt the first time I saw his pic, his eyes are too close together, that's a dead giveaway in my book. rolling on the floor laughing

***UPDATE***

My poem was rejected! Therefore I have no qualms about posting it here.

She stands like a goddess in faded blue jeans
A simple girl just trying to get by
She'd be in my arms not just in my dreams
If I could fly, could fly could fly
If only I could fly

I know it won’t happen, at least not today
Life isn't fair, what more can I say
But if there's a heaven in clouds up above
The day may arrive when I'll give her my love
My love, my love my love
I'll give her all of my love

She'll trade in her jeans for a white wedding gown
Her friends will all come from miles around
The first kiss is mine, I just couldn't bear
The thought of her kiss with another to share
Her kiss is mine, is mine, is mine
Her kiss will always be mine

It's a beautiful poem, Ooby!

And very heart-felt, very real.

You shouldn't give up that easily.

How many people you know for whom it happened on a first try?

Touching and endearing.
It looks like it would make a beautiful song, as well.
