I meant public sorta like IRC. It's still alive and kicking.

I've never used a chatroom, but I can see why you say the Forums are more laid back, yes.

If I want to talk properly with someone, I prefer off-site with MSN or Skype.

I have never been in a chat room before. I noticed today that they had one here on this site. soooo, I clicked the chat key. I didn't realize that I would be in the room with that one click..dunno
well I clicked right back out in a hurry...sigh I do believe I like the forums much better, like you said less pressure. It felt like I was put on the spot..doh

hmm ... I think we're as a society become more isolated ... most people now days prefer text messages to real conversation... but I guess any sort of communication is good

Think they each have their merits, but I personally prefer the forums. You get to meet a wider spread of people, methinks...cheering
