Horror stories? No...not really.....
...but if it were me to suggest.....would not bother to get married if I had to go at it.......too much hassle and very costly affair when things don't work out.....
Believe me....I know...been there done that......and have been happily single ever since....

Z, you don't need marriage horror stories to persuade you not to marry. If you don't want to marry, don't. Don't do something because people tell you to. Do it because you want to and your heart is telling you to, or not to; in your case at this particular time. There's a lifetime ahead of you, enjoy each and every day. Most of all BE HAPPY and TRUE TO YOURSELF!
I'm sure you'd much rather be happy by yourself, than miserable and resentful with someone else.

There is nothing good about marriage. But for you "Christian" types...Paul said it is better to marry than to burn!! What a great advocate for marriage!!

well- only you can know if you should get married- ( never get married because someone tell you you need to!!)
I think most of the ex marrieds on here will admit that, while they are no longer married, there were good times in that marriage. I know i feel that way-I may have been 'discontented' at points in my marriage, and finally realised i was not happy and wanted some other kind of life, but I can't say i regret being married to him. Obviously many others marry and are happy with that person for life.
I say, when you find the person you truly believe you want to spend the rest of your life with, then go for it, and hopefully it will be for ever

I agree. Don't do it because of the NEED to be married. Marriage should be about loving and wanting somebody for the rest of your life, and you wanting to marry them. All I can say horror story wise, make sure you truly KNOW a person. I got married at 18 thinking I truly knew somebody, who turns into a complete oppisite a year AFTER we were married.

Do you have a rich relative requiring you to be married b4 inheriting that $30Million ?
If so, I hope they are wise enough to make sure the additional requirement is you inherit only, if you marry for Love and are committed. Otherwise, stop setting yourself up for the mind trips you are trying to. . . there is no reason for it.

I loved being married. Everything about it was absolutely amazing every single day. I miss it terribly - which is one reason why I'm here. Yes, I have horror stories but what will I gain out of living them all over again? It took a long, long time to heal and get over it all but I did. And now I'm ready to live in the future and meet a wonderful man!
I think it's silly to discuss all the horror stories whether you are pro or anti marriage. There is no point to it. Either you want to be married or you don't.
Simple as that.
