I'm thinking about creating a virtual pollster rehab for those addicted to creating them and needing so much attention. This way they can cry their sob stories without flooding the forums. Poor neglected babies.

or in other language...TROLLS.....
fake profiles whose sole aim is seeking attentioon...and wanting to be on the page all the time.....thier turn on it seems.
so they just load with mundane and stupid polls to achieve attention....
if you don't participate or answer them they soon disappear of the page.........just ignore....

Thank goodness, there are some actual threads starting to come to the rescue...yes, it's been getting out of hand lately. We used to see one or two over the course of a day...then the younger ones came on and they seem to love the polls. Ick. Very few take off because there just isn't enough to start a conversation since most who do polls don't really write much of an OP.
You're not the only one suffering from Poll-overload. It sucks, and it's getting very hard to find a decent thread around here anymore. To give them credit, some of the newer members are learning that Polls aren't very popular on here.
