OK, here's one I saw a few years ago. I was at "Jamboree In The Hills" in Wheeling, WV. In between bands, the MC came out & asked for Mr. So & So to come up on stage. He did & took the mic. He then called for Ms. What's Her Name to join him. He proposed to her right up there on stage. Luckily, she accepted & thousands of people cheered & clapped for the happy couple!

That is awesome but is it how you want it done with you?
BarrenPneuma: If enough people post here with great ideas I will post mine. Promise.
On second thought I can't post it here. I do not want this moment ruined for her as it is very specific to the two of us. But I will email it to anyone interested.

If it was me & someone special... probably not. I'd want it to be a bit more intimate than that. Maybe dinner at a nice restaurant. Surprise me/hide it somehow. And then, get down on one knee, be romantic, & pop the magical question.
Of course, I'd never shun any clapping or cheering from on-lookers!
Maybe a nice carriage ride through Central Park...
If it were to ever happen for me....I think I'd like to be someplace we found special...like maybe one of the waterfalls around here....and I'd like him to take me in his arms and hold me close and ask in my ear if I would marry him, and then have him pull back and have the ring all ready to give to me so I'd know he was serious.
I can dream can't I? I don't even have anyone interested in dating, let alone marriage.
Come on now E we finally have a cerified professional here or at least one to whom the question has been popped. Inquiring minds want to know how you lovely heart was captivated by that awesome man.
Well, I love trains - so I think my perfect scenario would be on the historic train ride thru the Royal Gorge in Colorado. They have a 3 hour dinner and murder mystery train - it would be so romantic with all the scenery and the distraction of the entertainment...and then have it planned into the plot to have the finale include the marriage proposal. Awww....
I think if I was to ever pop the question again I would do it in romantic style, I would have her at a family gathering and I would sing her a romantic song, after the song I would be down on my knee an propose to her,
I've never had a true romantic proposal...4 marriages, and not one actual proposal at all, come to think of it. It was always a discussion, or something we just knew had evolved.
I'd like one of those...and the style would greatly depend on the man. Since I'm not in a dating relationship right now, I can't even answer that one...but I've seen it as billboards, messages in the thing at the center of a stadium that has the adds, skywriting, proposing on stage...it doesn't have to be that crazy, but I'd like something romantic and a little crazy if I ever do it again.
Mark...I know yours is going to blow her away. I think you have to be the most romantic guy I've ever known, and you and your lady are very lucky to have found each other.

I agree it has to be something specific. If the man does not recognize this he needs to check his heart. And the woman of course needs to refrain from clobbering him for being an idiot. Dreams become thoughts. thoughts become actions, actions of such a positive nature attract unto themselves. Believe and it shall come to pass.

See now there is a woman who knows what she wants and it screams romance all the way through.

There should always be originality and effort on the part of the man. She is after all the flower to your rain and deserves the best effort possible. I applaud you. It is no easy thing of course but there is no hesitation when you know...

Dru, you deserve the best. It will happen of course as Karma has already left you bereft of the perfect proposal. Knowing you and how you will infect this man with crazy (in the most delightful ways of course) it will grant a new definition of crazy to awe the world. Thank you my friend for the lovely sentiments and support. You can never know how that makes me feel. There are many here to whom I owe great deals because of their support in times that often seemed eternally bleak. The romance I exhibit is directly inspired by my angelic muse and is a small shade in comparison to her wholesome perfection. Truly among all men I am most blessed that she ever looked my way.
I had always envisioned to sing this song and then propose to that special someone. It doesn't matter where as long as she said yes.
It's your song - Garth Brooks
Standing in the spotlight On such a perfect night Knowing that your out there listening I remember one time When I was so afraid Didn't think I had the courage To stand up on this stage Then you reached into my heart And you found the melody And if there ever was somebody Who made me believe in me It was you It was you
It was your song that made me sing It was your voice that gave me wings And it was your light that shined Guiding my heart to find This place where I belong It was your song
Every night I pray Before the music starts to play That I'll do my best and I won't let you down And for all the times I've stood here This feeling feels brand new And any time I doubt myself I think of you
'Cause It was your song that made me sing It was your voice that gave me wings And it was your light that shined Guiding my heart to find This place where I belong It was your song
Dreams can come true With God's great angels like you
