The really skinny one almost never ate. I figured out years later he could have been on meds that made him that way. All I knew was that the dude WOULD NOT EAT. Then, a couple of years later, I dated another guy who ate like a bird. He just picked at food if he ate at all. There are thin people who are sane and healthy, but a lot of the truly thin people I know are mental about food.

No...but I did know a young woman who was anorexic when I was in the Army. I turned her in to our Sgt so that she could get the help she needed. I never did find out what happened, but I hope she got help...that was a very long time ago.

I suppose men can become just as obsessed about their weight and how they look as any woman can which leads to anorexia...it's just not as well known....I know my brother is skinny...but the man can eat...he just has a high metabolism.....

I am serious about what I put in my body and I only eat one big meal a day but I work out four times a week so I am in pretty good shape. Some people eat like birds but eat the wrong things. For instance my friend and his brother lived on sugar based cereal. Some single guys eat a lot of fast food which either makes you fat or it runs right through you if you have a high metabolism. There are many factors and many myths. My two sons have never eaten meat in their life but they are the biggest and tallest in their class, it helps that they are Ojibwe Native/South African/Secilian.

I was suspicious of the Vegan Detox diet. Eating vegetables is good, but I never saw that young woman's medical credentials. So, what medically qualified her to say all that stuff about how people need to detox? And then there was that movie called 'supersize me.' The guy intentionally ate huge portions of junk food he was unaccustomed to and made himself sick on purpose. Obvoiusly, a great many people eat at fast food places without that effect. It was very contrived. I like to get a BK Veggie. That's bread, cheese and vegetables. Of course, I love fries, but not those vats of chemical slurry they call shakes. But I love ice cream. Especially Ben and Jerry's.

I didn't realize that anorexic was a gender specific word, lol.
I've known people who eat like elephants but are very thin and I've seen the exact opposite as well. If I'm with a woman who's skinny but starves herself (Or maintains her figure obsessively with pills or other nasty ways - drugs, etc) then that'd be a NO for a continuing relationship. Being healthy and good personalities matter so much more to me.

:helpAs a chemist, I know what those chemical names on the back of Doritos are, and I'm very, very afraid.
Other than that, I'm not picky. I'm an omnivore, but I stay away from red meat. More chicken and fish than anything. I like good home cooking more than convenience crap.

high metabolism, yep, i have that problem people think i eat like a bird, but i eat til i'm full small stomach. but most of the time eat more through out the day other times barely eat at all. gotta drink beer and eat avacados to gain. plus i come from a small family. so some of us are just meant to be that way, if i gain a pound i'm happy.

I hear ya...My daughters the same way...she it just petite at 5'3 and tiny framed but she eats small meals just often...which is the way your suppose to eat anyway....and her twin brother eats the same and he's 6 ft tall and slim at 17.....

As for your fear about little eating people ... I do not think that it is so awful ... I would more worry about Gargantuan types.
