There's this old movie from the 70's..."Love Story"...a real tear-jerker, the heroine dies in the end etc....reduced whole audiences to snivelling, weeping wrecks by the end of the performance....
My question is, what does love mean to you??....
Love for me is, looking at her in her ragged dressing gown, Garfield the cat slippers (which I hated with a passion)...mussed up hair, bags under her eyes, cooking Sunday breakfast....and still think she is the most wonderful thing you've ever seen...
...what's love for you???...when do you know you're in love??
When it feels natural, unforced and comfortable no matter what you look like or the mood you're in. And...I still say I'm sorry when I'm wrong whether I'm "in love" with someone or not.

Love to me means Sunday morning wearing hair in rollers, no makeup, food-soiled slippers, an old, moth-eaten bathrobe, wrinkled belly hanging free, smoking a cigarette and flicking it over the frying pan while overcooking pancakes, scrambled eggs, and sausages....
What can I say - my grandmother had a great pancake recipe...
I think it is all about the actions, not the words. Show me don't tell me. Walk with me, talk to me. Understand who I am. I think I start with love of mankind and then it becomes acceptance, and understanding.
Say what??!...it starts with the love of mankind??...but surely it should start with the love of an individual and then expand from there?....

Just laying in bed listening to him snore, looking at him and know if he doesn't stop that damn snoring I am going to shove him off the bed. Just teasing.
Lagoona, Are there anymore like you out there and maybe closer to Nebraska.
Sassy, that is so true....how many of us have looked at our partners as they lay sleeping, and loved the sight of them??...or alternatively...not.
That is a very telling moment....I have done both.

That WAS me a few weeks ago... (well, not the Garfield slippers, of course, I DO draw the line somewhere, love!). Sunday breakfast, yes.... and a fab brekkie it was too! I thought he was made of sterner stuff and could handle seeing me "warts an' all" (as he put it!). Didn't bode well, obviously....
Shallow, do ya think? Superficial? Or just more than a fella is expected to handle?!!
Perhaps next time I'll try a Richard Nixon mask a la Patrick Swayze (Point Break)??

I have not had a lot of love in my life. I am just testing the waters. I am learning what I need. I have to give men a chance, they scare me a little. Just life experances.

Hmmm ... that question is as old as an Universe. Still no one can give a coherent answer to it. And never will.
It has as many answers as many people on the Planet ... 6 billions? Is it?
To me Love is ... when you say "I hate you" and hear I still Love you. Hands down. I surrender to Love.
It is so simple be in Love when everything is smooth, try to keep that feeling when storm is coming. Not everyone can survive life's calamities. Only those who are in Love.
Good question,Lagoona ... and yes, a movie is fantastic, indeed.
I have loved once but know he is gone..What I do remeber, is when we would lay in bed and I would just watch him sleep, and than I would get up..and make breakfest in bed... How I miss that..

Wow Marina. That is as profound as the depth in your name. Some day, you and I will share some of that sushi...
Rose babe, if he didn't love ya "warts an' all" then it wasn't worth it, not for him, not for you.....I always say, and this is somehow my siren call, if you're not really in love, screw it, live alone...

If it's common, I am in trouble of never finding love - while I won't have problem with overcooking... ... anything..., wouldn't know where to get the highlighted items.
....and don't send me to e-bay - I won't know what to do with those items either...

Don't we all have love stories to relate...i can write a book about how i treat my partner when i'm in love but sometimes the four-letter word itself scares me a little.
