rocketqueen: just curious to know what you would you in asituation like experienced yesterday, and if you have ever been in a bushfire and what did you do?
now i hear the tallly is 111 and possibly it will get higher....former newsreader brian naylor and his wife moiree died in the kinglake fires
I was never in a bushfire but our forests went up in flames at one point.I guess it's the same situation. We had to jump into the river to be safe since nothing else could be done but to flee.
After having been through a couple of grass fires, as well as a few other fires, and seeing how fast they spread, it's hard to say what I would do. Obviously I'd want to do all that I could to save my property and that of those around me, but after seeing some footage of the bushfires in Aus., it's tough. Your life isn't replacable, whereas a house or a car are.

Its climbing to 200 dead! They say nobody had a chance to think or react as it was the valley of death! Ide probably die of a heart attack before the fire got to me!
