30 yrs ago a company manager was paid 25-30% more than the highest paid employee, now they are being paid 300-500% more...no wonder so many companies go belly up ...another pet peeve

I'm familiar with the way they do business in Germany. The problem is not with the manufacturers, but with the retailers ! (dealerships) in Germany. They set a profit margin and a commission schedule and they'd rather not sell than to lower their income. Bad business strategy, but that's what they do.
It's a form of collusion (price fixing) and sadly it's tolerated by the German government and by the people.

I agree, its all down on the dealers. 10 year ago the cost to produce a VW golf was € 1850 ie cost.The dealer paid € 4000 to VW. You and i had to pay 12000 € on the bottom line. On average, the dealers had 35 - 40 % profit margin. At that time the German Govt, legally limited the discount to a max of 3% that a dealer could legally allow. Now discounts of upto 15% or more are possible.
This scrapping premium on offer at the moment is just a joke anyway, its only valid for one year, approx 600.000 new car buyers may profit from it or until the funding has run out.
basically its taking the piss out of the public by making them think the govt is giving them something. Watch out, they will take it back double and treble later on in the year.

so me being a good little boy went to the Pharmacy & told the member of staff that i need some thing for my nose & that i hace a note from my DR. this didnt interest the member of staff as what my DR wrote on the note ,!!! the pharmacy ,try to give me some thing for my nose ,that my DR didnt write on this note ,(asking the staff why she want to give me this thing & not the thing on the note from my DR. she cound not answer me , when i told her then if she has not the thing in store that my DR wrote on the note ,then i will go to another Pharmacy,she told me i cant do that as i have given her my DR note & i must pay €9.00 !!!!
as i told the Pharmacy "that she has not the same drug in store that my DR wrote & the fact she is not willing to order it ,that i dont & wont buy the drug that she wants to TRY to sell to me "
after some hard thinking from the Pharmacy she trys to tell me that IF i don pay her for a drug that i dont want & the DR didnt write on the note she will call the police !!!!!,
i ask her if she wants to use my cell phone or her own phone ,
she didnt call the police .!!!but i did go to another Pharmacy & give them my DR note ,they had no problem in selling me what i wanted /needed ,also the price was only €5.70 !!!!!

I was in a restaurant last night and we got charged €15 extra. When we queried it she said they had made a mistake but was very rude about it. She didn't even say sorry. We will not be going back there again or recommending it even though the food was faultless. Its about time comsumers stood up and shouted!

do you remember the DM (German money) well about 10 years ago we got the € EURO money !!! well lets say 2DM is about €1.00 ,when the shops & the pubs & other companys change the price to € . the all added on a few percent more ,IE if some thing cost 10 DM then in € it should be €5.00 yes !? yes , NO at the start some company try to change the sign DM for € but not the price !!!
Germany was the ONLY country that didnt make or plan a law to stop this ,all the other "€ Euro land" made a law allowing a MAX 3 % to round of the price .
In France you can still see the price in Franks & € !!!

Paulie, maybe even after 15 years of germany (i lived there 32)you might not know, there is an unwritten codex for the germans, never go against a lawyer, a doctor or a chemist they are gods in white. ok.
the best place to buy a good secondhand lhd car because i refuse to buy a new one on account of the dealers stance and tax on a new car, is in the uk with so many people returning to the uk from spain prices of 2 and 3 yr old cars are extremley cheap

no way pal, you get a cheap banger and thats all it is. then you come over here and try to get it registered on the local economy (cos thats the laws) and bingo, it dont pass the much much more strigent mot's overhere. After getting all things put right you might have well bought the bloody thing over here. The uk mot is only a joke, operated by chimps or orangs. If it drive in the testing station under its own power then its ok.
