Thanks all for your taking time to read and encouragement for Phil. I only know him through another site but he was quite mischievous and full of fun. Had a stroke in September and was offline for a while I have just heard from him in the last couple of days.

A biological accident renders me speechless
weak and trembling
Here am I once a vigorous being
having to learn to talk again
simple syllables lost among the slurring
communication with my loved ones
has become a burden for me
Once I called myself Thor "God of Thunder"
Lived in a small Indiana town
caused mischief and mayhem
on my Harley I would wonder
with a twinkle in my blue eyes
and a cockiness to my step
Yet time has not been a friend of mine
taken my loves away
left me entwined in the frailty
that becomes stronger as I age
First diabetes and set backs
now this brain accident
Yet here I am the ever
adaptable human
making my way back
to strength
This stroke of fate will not keep me down
I will rise above it
