rocketqueen: i think we all get a bit jaded with some musos sprouting their save the world consciousness to everybody who can hear cos quite often they sit up in there ivory towers, and dont do what they're preaching...but neil young most definitely is one man who lives by his ethos
i agree with neil, and i am a fan of ian hunter he's also of strong opinion, but he's more matter of fact, not a slogan shouter. so i dont mind hearing what the man has to say,
Oh, where oh where can my baby be? The Lord took her away from me She's gone to heaven, so I got to be good So I can see my baby when I leave this world.
We were out on a date in my daddy's car We hadn't driven very far There in the road, up straight ahead A car was stalled, the engine was dead I couldn't stop, so I swerved to the right I'll never forget the sound that night The screamin' tires, the bustin' glass The painful scream that I heard last.
Oh, where oh where can my baby be? The Lord took her away from me She's gone to heaven, so I got to be good So I can see my baby when I leave this world.
When I woke up, the rain was pourin' down There were people standing all around Something warm rollin' through my eyes But somehow I found my baby that night I lifted her head, she looked at me and said "Hold me darling just a little while." I held her close, I kissed her our last kiss I found the love that I knew I would miss But now she's gone, even though I hold her tight I lost my love, my life that night.
Oh, where oh where can my baby be? The Lord took her away from me She's gone to heaven, so I got to be good So I can see my baby when I leave this world. Oooh~ ooooh~
Seems like a good thread for this question. I like alot of the "newer" bands lyrics but think the music sucks so I find myself drawn to unplugged albums. Just listened to Nervana Unpugged. Love Cobain's writing. Can't stand the "Plugged" stuff. Unfortunatly, most of the later bands don't label their unplugged albums "Unplugged" They have regular album names so it makes it a bit hard for me to find them. Do any of the bands being discussed (Exept Neil-I know Neil) have unplugged albums or bands contemporary to them have unplugged albums? Names-advise??? Come-on, help the old people!

I would say "Alive" and then my second favorite would be "Evenflow."
