I'd like to see some events for Massachusetts singles, especially in the North Central area. There's really no place for singles to meet around here unless you go to the bars.
I have been thinking about Meet Ups in coffee shops either at
Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts.....

well, you know people in mass are supposed to very cold compared to other parts of the country and the world.i do not mind chatting,i chat and talk with people all over the world.

I am new in the area and it seems that all the people from Mass do is stand around talking to their friends and staring at others versus actually going up and talking to them. I've come to the conclusion that men have lost their self-confidence and just wait for women to do the pursuing. For goodness sake you don't have to buy me drinks to be friendly and meet me. As long as you're not planning on trying to take me home then just say "hi" for heaven's sake! It's so frustrating. I miss the concept of local hangouts and community dances where people just get to know others in a group setting without all the pressure. Guess I'm older than I look and feel lol.

Finding friends first sounds great to me lol. There's lot's to do around here for sure. I'm in Worcester though; not sure where that is compared to Salem?

I lived in mass for a num of yrs pity then did not have CS back then...wish i was back there now ..as an irish person living there everybody i came in contact with were very friendly some of them i am sill in contact with...thank god for e-mails.

After soo many days, I conclude that nobody wants to actually meet in MA region.
why do you not try to organise a meet up with folk from surrounding area's ..
i am not familiar with boston 
but iam sure if you start a thread(chat forum) in your area people will contribute to it
