I am in two minds to be honest , there is a huge part of me that wants to apply for the one year working visa and head out there and see what it is like ...

And there there is another part that talks me out of it !

Has anyone here been over there working ? Is anyone planning on going in the future ? ...i work in childcare and i know from a co worker that is now out there , she is foing great !

I am 25 in May and dont want to keep procrastinating about it ....

Your experience would be welcome of you have the time

Go, do it now while you have the chance, it may never come around again. You are better off regretting the foolish things you did do, than the things you never had the courage to do.

If you have the where-with-all and the opportunity, then definately go. You can always leave if it all gets too Home & Away for you.

It sounds to me like the country you need to go to is the land of psychiatrica. It's right next to nutzistan. Everyone wears comfortable pyjamas there and sings songs and remembers happier days with uncle Joe in the garden shed. You many also be suffering from acute seminal depleted so I prescribe a large injection of horsemeat, stat!

Thank you all for your advice ,so nice to hear your own experiences from travelling and living in Australia .

A few reasons i am reluctant at the moment .

None of my friends are in a position to go , they are either in relationships or just dont have the money or want to go so really i would either be going alone or perhaps might meet a travek buddy online but i would not know that person well.

Being realistic thee would be no point going for just one year , with all the cost involved and the fact i am leaving a job the chances of me working and saving in one year doesnt seem realistic .

I suppose if one of my friends was coming with me i would feel different , the thoughts of going alone and being alone over there is a scary one .

thumbs up and look out for notic boards in hostel and backpackers for share drive.
also you need to buy booklet for hostel and backpackers, was $40 for 1 year in the 90's. Backpackers more deluxe. with swimming pool. many with A/C with it will be share rooms. mix. with flight, get open returns. I flew with Philippines air line, and stay 4 days in Manila and 2 days in Thailand. Bangkok.

Thank you all for your advice .

I have decided that i will go for it , my co worker who moved there a year ago came home to visit last week and could not rave enough about it, she was dying to come home !

I will just look at it as a saving plan , go over work for a year or two and come home a little more financially secure ( hopefully )

Go for it, and remember, don't just work, have a bit of fun, see as much of the place as you can, you might never get the chance to do it again. thumbs up
