First we contacted the Dublin County Sheriffs Office and the Dublin City Sheriffs Office who look after the county and city districts in Dublin respectively. Both of these offices have a similar story to tell: officers act on foot of either court orders or revenue warrants made out against a particular person. This gives officers the right to seize property in the name of that individual – including motor vehicles

dylandoh1: well karn1, I owe the maintanence company money and they got an order for a bailiff who istreatening to come to my home and take what they can to the value of what I owe. my taxi is my job can they take that, my solicitor says no but he,s not sure.

It doesn't matter what your solicitor says, Irish cops are that ignorant of the law in regards to civil V criminal laws/cases that they will just see a piece of paper with REPOSSESSION printed on it and let the sheriff seize your car.

Dylan, sell your taxi to a family member for e1, get a receipt from them, date it today and sign the log book over to make it a legal transaction, date it today. They can sign it back over to you later. Its a legal transaction.
