I know what you mean. Sometimes the site is company and craic, other times it makes you realise how sad we can be, lol.
I just use it for the forums now.

We should never give up, Mjpd67, but we should work harder at enjoying life as it is now and not wait until we have the perfect relationship. 
Plus I play Scrabble and chat on FB at the same time, it gets that slow on here

I joined CS February 2013, not having a clue what I was doing. I found Chatroom, made some friends there. I am now dating someone I met in Chat as a friend, but didn't meet in real life until 1 year later... The unexpected can happen...

I don't think that it makes us appear sad..I have met some great people on here and have had many enjoyable nights out and friendships made..it is really just another form of communication IMO..plus although I never really was looking to meet anyone special or go on a date...I did...all through CS..
I still enjoy the craic and discussions on the forums when there is no nastiness..so to the OP..sure why not hang in here as an alternate way of communicating with people?
