I was watching airline disasters on Discovery, and one plane went down in the ocean, it took them years to find the black box, let alone the plane. They brought in the team that discovered the Titanic and it cost millions. There were still bodies strapped into seats when they eventually discovered the wreckage.
Terrible tragedy, especially for those left behind with no closure. Very sad.

That was the AIR FRANCE AIRBUS flight from Brazil to Paris. It went down in the middle of the atlantic ocean somewhere between South America and Africa and so the search area was huge and there was no land nearby. In this case the ocean area is not as vast and there is plenty of land nearby. Land nearby means plenty of radar stations tracking its last position etc so it should not be as difficult as it is turning out to be.

I think the aircraft was taken by aliens

Mnnn.....interesting concept.....but seems as if the plane didn't pass its recent NCT test.....probably pulled over & impounded by some en route nations sky cops...beaurecrats rules

My first thought was that Western Star is somehow involved. I am sure that everyone is alive and well and eating drisheen in the far recesses of the Rebel County. ..just a theory though

Why does every event now have to have a conspiracy theory? Can things just not "happen" anymore?

I like your theory though....a bit like Lost
because planes...ships....trains...buses...modes of transport suddenly missing don't just 'happen'.....they all have an etd & eta ......unless it's the bermuda triangle....strange but true...truth is stranger than fiction ..that dang twilight zone? Could just be them pesky leprechauns being bold in foreign skys ?? Or has some magician screwed up his latest test trick?

aaahh sure there's a unload of Asian tourists drinking Murphys.....still queing to kiss the blarney stone....decided to do a late 'the gathering'....a new big plane parked in a corner of a rural 'knock' airport....the pilot won a lotto & decided to treat his passengers to a genuine st paddys day party?.....en mass political asylum seekers which somehow didn't make the news
They are broadening the search now; seemingly if the pilots, for some reason, were unconscious and it was on autopilot, the plane would have just kept flying until it ran out of fuel... so it could be anywhere.
One would think there would be a homing beacon of some sort inside the black box , if only to record point of last detection if the box was broken, Shur co ordinates are standard now a days
