I like Dublin, the occasional time I visit it.

But I do not feel any attachment to it.

To me, it is simply a bigger city than the one I live in, the one I do feel a strong attachment to.ireland

I think it just a parochial thing. Many Irish people revolve around the local GAA club.

As a country lad who has lived on the North side, south side and city centre, the positives I would take from Dublin are first of all:

Croke Park, the best atmosphere you will get in a stadium anywhere in the world.

The Phoenix park, a great place to bring a football and just belt it ahead of you and walk for miles.

Howth, a lovely little village complete with semi tame seals you can feed.

Beachcombing for historical artefacts on bull island.

The Savoy on O Connell Street, a lovely old cinema that retains it's charm and still delivers top class viewing.

Liffey Valley shopping centre, all the shops without the pretentious nonsense you get in Dundrum.

So there you go Wade, some pride in Dublin's amenities from a country lad.thumbs up

Dublin was never the same after they closed down the Temple Theatre and Switch on Eustace Street disappeared. You'll never be the same, Dublin.

if we took enough time pointing out what we do have we wouldnt have enough time to question the doubters.i love my country and even tho i dont have much materially,i still feel blessed because it goes a lot further.a small majority of people will find the bad in the most beautiful situation and askin about their point of view is just bringing yourself to their level, giving them a chance to try explain something they know nothing about.no preaching thats just my view.thanks for givin me the oppertunity to explain
