WadeWilson: so that makes it justifable
you yourself have said you contacted mods here about stuff
does that make you a tout
maybe we should shoot you too

I've never deined contacting the mods here. You are probably referring to the 'macattack' episode. I told mac publically what I'd do before I done it. I also gave him a chance to readdress the situ. and he went off on one. So i carried through with my actions. I didn't go behind backs an snitch like a school boy. I was up front about what I would do..

kennyfromdublin: The previous FF government were completely spineless as regards the medical card fiasco. It was absolutely nonsense to bring in medical cards for everyone over 70 irrespective of income and an ageing population as well which will put severe pressure on the states health services over the next few decades.

The medical card has now rightly been means tested at €500 per week for a single person and €900 per week for a couple although I still think the income threshold is still far too high.

The days of a bloated welfare state are hopefully coming to an end and the sooner briandead populist voting buying policies are ended the better.

Where did you get that income threshold information from?

Am looking at a letter from the HSE and the guidelines are no where near that.

For the lower paid, those with Mortgages, elderly, all the Bills have gone up, as well as VAT, so we are being Taxed anyway. I feel that we have borne the brunt of the Governments incompetence and chaotic running of the country /Bankers [you know the story] during the property Boom, the bankers have received Handshakes and we are left holding the Can.
Enough is enough. I have already stated my views on the Water charge and also on the Flouride 960pc] in the Water, and I am furious that having being deemed enforced medication by the EC countries - Brussels, and a class 2 poison, plus an insectiicde with carciogenic properties, that kills the thyroid, causes kidney stones and a plethora of other ills, including neuroligical disorders, Depression, and other things.. We must stand firm. I have said in this blog that the Water pipes are of 3rd World standard, the whole thing is a fiasco. ireland

My medical card income threshold comments were in relation to people over 70 years of age. Here's a link.

"The gross income limit for the over-70s medical card is €500 per week for a single person and €900 per week for couples. These limits were reduced from the previous limits, of €600 and €1,200 per week, from 1 January 2014."

Cheers, had forgotten for the minute about that.
