I joined this site just over a week ago, i used to chat to a man on here every night, I asked him one night what does he work at so he told me and asked what did i work at.

I told him i don't work, that i was on disability so he then asked was i in an accident i said no i'm a manic depressive !

He hasn't spoken to me since, it wasn't as if we were ever going to meet up he lives at one end of the country and i live at the other.

What's wrong with just chatting ?
what does he think i'm going to do to him and what could i do from nearly 400 miles away?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Sounds like your bi-polar disorder frightened him. Move on...

Sounds like the man had formed his opinion of you based on your condition,.he clearly has a lack of knowledge and understanding of it,...if he had of took the time to get to know you,
You were honest and upfront it's a more open minded man you want one that dosnt prejudge and take the time to get to know you...all the best and just shine.

But, do we not all base our choices on aspects of the other person, whether physical, mental, spiritual etc., etc?

For example if somebody told you they were morbidly obese or an alcoholic, would you not make your choice to continue the relationship or not, based on that knowledge?

Most people know what they want from a relationship, from another person. Most know what they can handle or can't. I personally could not live with an alcoholic, I could not deal with it. Others can.

It is the same with mental illnesses. People know if they can handle dealing with it or not. This decision may be missplaced, due to lack of knowledge of the illness, but it is still their choice.
It is good to know your own know. Saves heartbreak for all later.

lol.could be that if you got to know this man there may be traits in him that you would run ten thousand miles from,...
