That was the goal I was referring to as well Molly, now if all soccer players could play like Maradona, soccer would be nearly as good as football and Hurling. laugh

I must say I don't find gaelic football good at all. They foul too much, it is not freeflowing enough, and just not interesting to watch.

Hurling is another matter entirely - magic!

Ah, I can tell from that statement you are from the east of the county. Hurling is a great sport and when it is played at the highest level it is a joy to behold. In Kildare, football is the dominant game and therefore I suppose I prefer it to hurling. The Sky coverage is introducing both games to a worldwide audience and surely that will ensure more people taking part, and that can only be good for our national games. Heading to Croker Sunday, Kildare V Meath, should be a cracker.thumbs up

Watching Ireland v England in a pub in elephant castle 1990,...ah me and the ex hubby and his brother girlfriend and crazy soccor fans went over and stayed with our best mates house,me and my best mate had smoked a bit of wacky backy something I never bothered with or she,anyway we got giggles couldn't stop laughing,her hubby thought we were going to have a seizure with all the laughing,ill never forget it,because her cat was sitting in a shoe box and I remember asking her why was he doing that,she said he had been neutered and it had nothing to do,,,,,kept staring at cat in the box for over an hour,laughing at its eyes and the cat and we went into convulsions laughing abt it sitting in box nothing to do.we got up hopped on the tube and went to find petty coat lane market but we didnt get thete as we were looking around brick lane and laughing like mad eejet s a car pulled up and two Pakistani guys asked us where we were going what were we doing and asked us if we wanted a lift,we legged it .but we're stil laughing on tube back to her place.funiest time and World Cup experience ever.

ah it was great wasn't it, We didnt get tickets for the stadium but laugh in pub,it was mixed and we were just all singing..seems like only recent now I'm thinking of it,haha I remember the two trains we had to get from London to Fishguard but we had plenty beer for the journey wouldn't you know,and our faithful ireland ,like people didnt know we were Irish anyway we wore the ireland proud.oh yes we were great ambassadors,haha....well the bruv in law and friends would be the fans that followed Eire when playing anywhere,...as well as their gaa they play.i was just there to enjoy the game,..go around west end and get stoned and visit brick lane,laugh
