The new Gaeltacht minister isn’t fluent in Irish

Donegal Fine Gael TD Joe McHugh was confirmed today as a minister with ‘special responsibility’ for Gaeltacht matters.

The whole idea of there being a minister for the Gaeltacht is daft in the first place and this shows it.

my understanding is to the junior minister is doing a refresher course in irish too to increase his knowledge of irish

i think Irish is very import its one of the thing that's makes us Irish and helps Irish culture if we did,t we could end up like the english or the usa
