That was some day alright, I see it is going to get less warm for the weekend. You would have to pity, the poor old civil servants stuck in their offices all week. innocent

Hi Peach, The post has gone up.. its now 60cent to send a letter to anywhere in Ireland and I paid 90cent to send my 84year old mother in London a card !! Crazy! Yes, I remember the Saturday night bath... and being older than you, I remember fasting from midnight Saturday night for communion the next day at 11 am. I was also made get the papers for neighbours and ask them if they needed anything... that's all gone now.

Hi gloss, wave ...Easey know I haven't sent my dad a postcard in a while,,I was just reminded now when talking of stamps,lol...my mam was never the type that would make me go to mass,,,she was never like that,,,my friends were made go,,,.i remember one girl I knew of was made say the rosary when the angelus would come on,and her dad was very strict and never let her or her sisters wear jeans so they would sneak them out and he would have a leather belt to hit them if they were out of order but yet they understood the way he was because that was the way he was reared and
He always made sure they didnt go without,,,

Peach There were alot of Nuns like that too !! I can remember one nun cutting my hair right into my head. I was only 13. I was mortified, I went home and there was hell to play, the nun who did it, said I needed to learn that it was sinful to speak with the workmen !! I had been innocently talking to Workmen at our school.... really nasty, they were twisted.. like that man you mentioned and his daughters. He sounds very frustrated. Repressed too. Thank Gawd, it's all changed now, but its gone too much the other way.uh oh laugh Hope you are enjoying the Sun down there in Wexford. It must be beautiful...
