I had the privilege of doing some work for Google in Dublin - four different occasions, different building each time - OMG, if you ever get the chance to get inside their doors, TAKE IT!
It's the maddest, craziest, and coolest work environment EVER. Crazy golf, pool tables, slides taking you from one floor to the next, space-aged cubicles where you can sit and work, bean bags instead of desks... it's absolutely insane.
There are 3 restaurants in the building that feeds over 3000 people a day - breakfast, lunch and dinner - all free. There are snack cubicles every 50metres, stacked sky high with everything (and I mean everything) you could possibly think of - all free.
Every flavour of coffee, tea, juice, yoghurt, bars, fruit.... free.
But you pay for it in stress, I think lol.
Great company, I really enjoyed my time there.

I agree that historical records are inevitably biased. The victors write the history books.
However, critical analysis of data is a form of forensic investigation into every element of the information presented.
An opinion is just what one thinks, whereas critically analysing the appropriated information is a scientific means of reaching an educated conclusion.
Therefore, critical analysis of historical accounts, allows one to question and discount the bias, and consequently gain a more realistic understanding of events in the past.
Hey, I could be wrong, but I think it is a better system than just guessing, or offering an untested hypothesis.
