peachmelba: Well anyway you googled right yes Anne's father was not a loftus it was her mother Anne,

Well Anne was still a loftus by birth,

And it is called loftus hall,So as for her dad and her stepmam.

,don't think they were nice people anyway,

Locking Anne in her room,

Incase the rumour get out she pregnant ,yes scandalous at the time but still her dad and step man especially Anne did not get on with,

I heard this from a valuable source,

Yeah. That happened often years ago, all over the country.

Didn't need to google, though. The first time I was in Loftus hall I was still suppin' out of coke bottles. wink

Doubt if you have slept in that place on your own at night.

Yes it was. Pub and hotel once,

No owner stayed too long in that house,

The woman who owned it that shouted at my son and his dad to get out,

She is in a nursing home ,I think she still alive but she won't talk about the secrets of that house,

The stable at the side of the house or work shed whatever it is is original,

And Anne's bedroom is really icey cold unlike the other rooms,

The church part is cold too and has an eerie feel about it,

I'm wanting to visit the house soon,it told me to go back,

uh oh

Yes I am very aware it did happen all over Ireland but loftus hall is and will always remain shrouded in mystery ,intrigue and ghosts living there ,

Still.

Watch out if you visit there,

You may feel the chill on the back of your neck,

Be careful when driving past it don't look back at it or something may follow you in your car,

Loftus hall is the best,

Long live loftus hall and the ghost s that live thete,

Now there is this chateau in Normandy I visited ,the owners had been executed ,,sent to the guiltine as they were aristocrats,

Now that was some huge place with a huge celler and a what looked like a dungeon,

Beautiful gardens too,

When we were in the chateau ie the bedroom ,,a door to the side opened.

Thete was no breeze and it had been locked ,

Well that's another story,

It's French not Irish,

When you drive down that road there's more danger from being wiped off the road by a Dublin Tourist than there is by any ghost. laugh They think they own the road.

MADDOG69: Now you're getting closer to the mark.

There was a much more serious rumour directed at the aforementioned lady. I'll leave it at that.

Ah you know something I don't,

I want to know,

I do believe she went abit nutty,

The nuns wouldn't talk about their time in the hall either,

If only I could interview the ol woman,

I think she is dead now,

Secrets gone to the grave,

I'm going to be thinking now what was the rumour about the deverexus woman,

She must have took part in some ritual or been part of something sinister,

Must be bad ,,she stayed in that house alone when thete was no heating in it and it was in major need of repair,

It was a kip when she stayed thete, all kinds if visitors going bump in the night,

What was she part of .

I do think she became the dark side of things there,

But what,??.??

I was in Hook head light house once. It is fairly isolated. It was fairly wild there. It could do with better roads. Anyway.
The decline of Irish language could be traced back to Normans. slán agus beannacht.

I frightened myself last night ,I looked up haunting s of loftus hall and the paranormal group were investigating in thete not that long ago and they got a smell of smoke upstairs coming from the top landing,,there was also what looked like fire that came out in a photograph they took like it was the door on fire..

There are alot of explained and unexplained events that take place in that house,

Was in the just the pantry and stable of house about three years ago ,,my friend went in as the door was opened that appeared closed but wasn't.

The caretaker across the road kindly let us in at the time as he knew I was very interested. In the place and told us we could have a look around the grounds ,which was very good of him because noon one allowed in at that time,

Of course my friend went in the house and I did too but just stayed in the pantry part just staring around at the old fireplace and beautiful old tiles on the floor,

There was vodka bottle on the table and a candle all covered in dust,

My friend disappeared out this door of pantry and was going up the stairs ,I told him not to ,

Then the caretaker entered I nearly freaked didnt know who it was,

He shouted how did you's get in here ,told you's to stay in the grounds ,,safty regulations and all that,

Told him we were really sorry the door was open so we just wanted a peep in,

He told us he had locked it,

Ah he was a lovely man ,,my friend was chatting away to him and he was telling us about the house,
