I'm not sure whether taxing people for being obese will work. At what level do we set the fat tax? The aim would be to get people to change lifestyle and switch to healthier foods. But what are the cost of these? Taxes like this will have a disproportionate effect on the poorest in society. Do we help subsidize food for the poorest when we introduce a tax of this sort? Will a subsidy not just get rid of the incentive that a tax is trying to create?
It's always easy just to say let's tax this and let's tax that but we really must think about the situation and see whether it will actually work and not just be another nonsense idea from a government minister...

I think some airlines charge more if the person cannot fit into a standard plane seat.
Buses and trains should follow suit, it is awkward trying to sit beside someone, who is so large they take up more than half the double seats.
Plus, as some fat people tend to sweat a lot, it isn't nice sitting beside them, especially if they have had to waddle quickly to catch the bus.

This is stereotyping fat people as people who sweat a lot. People who are not fat sweat too. It's not always nice sitting beside people who aren't fat, especially if they are taking drugs on a bus like the thin male in the picture in the newspaper. Not all fat people waddle, that is more stereotyping, a lot are well able to run and can run better than some people who are thin.
Criminals who rob people get more sympathy because they come from poor backgrounds from some sections of society than fat people who cause harm to no-one. No to a fat tax, it's ridiculous.
