thelad2007: you could argue that. some of our current female political leaders have created some dreadful policies. i think it could just be personal traits more than them trying to play it with the boys but there has been some truly dreadful male leaders
Women will never be able to be 'women'in politics, unless they are allowed to be. At the moment they are in a boy's club, and on the fringes at that.
Yeah we experienced a pretty mediocre prime minister a few years back, if anybody was critical of the PM's words or actions they were a misogynist.

We have never had a female PM, nor will in the forseeable future.
We have had two very capable female presidents though, who broke the mould where the office of president were concerned. They pushed out the boundaries and made it less of a purely ceremonial role.
mollybaby: It might be difficult for women to 'stand behind their husbands and support them on the way to the top' as they would also be also be tied to the kitchen sink..

Tinypaws: I'd less focus on gender, but instead on what it takes to get to run our societies. Those with conscience either end disheartened and even destroyed, or if they make it, their conscience itself tends to have been dismantled, whether it be politics or industry.
I agree with that. I worked with people in a so called lobbying group and there were some good people who wanted to change things for the better, but the ones ABSOLUTELY wanting to get to the top and have a say, were the ones that were least suited to the job. Big egos and nothing behind it, but if you have enough of them, they can take over and then you have a problem.

Women won't send their children, or others people children to get killed as quickly as men would.
Women are better at budgeting, and overall management due to running the home on a daily basis, and could bring those skills to a macro level.
Many of the women in politics or top jobs have to act and think like men to be even taken seriously, therefore they are no different from men in many respects.
