Well lets face it, if the wings were like dragonfly wings it wouldnt really work. 4 wings moving in opposite directions at speed is a recipe for disaster, whereas 2 sturdy wings with a bit of structure at the front, when gripped at the base would provide the perfect leverage.

I think in the insect world, the boy gets the hell out of there before she eats him... But this is not an insect we're talking about, its the tooth fairy. Think stunning 20-something ballerina with giant insect wings.

Well lets not get caught up arguing which kind of wings a tooth fairy has. To my knowledge, there isnt a critter the size of a stunning 20-something ballerina that has wings to compare. I think black leathery bat wings arent right, big powdery moth wings arent right. As I said before, complex 4 winged arrangements wouldnt work. I'm not into science fiction so a transformers kind of situation wont work. So I dont know, giant cicada wings will have to do until somebody invents something better.
