That has me curious now to know the name of that bush ,I think I know the one you mean it grows wild with big thick stems and no it isn't even a nice smell must be the rubber,haha,

The salt and seaweed smell drifting in from the Irish sea on the approach to Courtown.
Childhood memories of swimming in the sea, building sand castles, wind breakers, fishing in the harbour, candy floss and fairground rides and a pleasant little country seaside town, sadly now somewhat ruined by development.
There is a strange kind of what I think is a burned diesel smell.
It comes off the Ice-cream vans, and reminds me of playing at my grannies house.

I remember pulling a dry one of these it broke and a load of earwigs crawled onto my hand..
