Well Conor has reportedly spent six figures on his training camp, which is unreal.
The amazing thing is Nate would probably stand to earn even more money if he loses, as they'd have to go for the third super-fight to decide it.

How bizarre. It's like Conor is single-handedly turning the UFC into the WWE with the theatricality of it all.

Haven't a clue how it gonna go though.
Can't see Conor knocking Nate out, but can see him using his superior speed to win by decision.

Roll on Saturday. Lots of Irish flags up too I notice (though maybe that's partly for the Olympics (even though we're not doing well).

McGregor looks weaker when his fights go to the ground, he gave up his back very easily to Diaz last time and Diaz had only 11 days to prepare.

Diaz is no joke and if he gets a chance he could make him tap out again

I'd agree with that. Can't see Conor knocking him out as he's way too durable. Nate only ever been stopped with a head kick.

Conor's best chance is tagging him and keeping away as he has the edge on hand speed. So winning by decision his best play.

In a grappling match Conor's in trouble for sure.

Very tense press conference tonight too. Conor showed up late, and Nate walked out. Ended up with them both throwing bottles. Crazy.

I have to say Conor's antics can be a bit much. I quite like Diaz. He's a legit fighter too.

Can't wait for it.

It'll be on circa 5am Sunday morning Irish time.
(main card from 2ish)

- By the way, if you're on UFC fight pass, it's not gonna be streamed til 2 days after the fight (which is BS blues )

Otherwise you can watch on Sky.
Loads of pubs showing it in Dublin, but don't know about down your country.

its not beyond the realms that its fixed so the 3rd fight will happen. conor punched himself out in the first fight he will be a lot more cautious this time. my gut says diaz

I'd agree with that. If Conor egotistically goes for the KO straight away again, he's gonna get mangled.
Nate can beat Conor in a lot of ways. Conor should go for the decision on points, as he def has the skills to keep away from Nate, but if he's too arrogant, he could get hurt, and his credibility will take a serious hit.

I don't even think Conor is that dominant at featherweight.
Lots of guys would be a challenge for him:
A resurgent Aldo, Max Holloway is on a tear, Edgar, Stephens.
All those guys could possibly beat Conor on their day.

I don't think the fix is in re: setting up that third fight, as I think Nate's profile is big enough now that he can fight other guys, challenge for titles and still be a needle mover as a draw on big cards, even without Conor.

agree with most of what you said just on last point diaz profile has greatly improved but a third fight outdraws any other fight.
a second fight with aldo is dangerous on many fronts and far from clearcut. if you look at mcgregors earlier fights the match ups suited him, aldo wont imo.
i watch a lot of boxing and ufc so im not like the "experts" we now have that look at one mcgregor fight and know it all, not saying you are but im sure you know the type im on about. i just think theres way too much hype about him. his three credible fights were against mendes, quite lucky, aldo, good shot but we still dont know how a five rounder would go and diaz, defeat. hes still unproven to a point
dont get me wrong im a big mcgregor fan but just been realistic. id love to see him do everything he says but there are question marks

yea time will tell. i backed diaz at 7/2 in original fight and will do so again at even money in this one. i genuinely hope im wrong but the price is too good. yea 70% promotion sounds about right. he will always attract the bigger fights but the more he loses the less his name will be. a lot on the line for him
cricfree.com is a good site to watch
also interesting is freddie roach interview a few months back where h said mcgregor sparred some of his boxers and struggled.

Jeazus 7/2 were tidy odds. Nice job!
Just shows how many partisan Irish fans were blindly betting on him.

I saw that Freddie Roach thing. All that speculation about a crossover fight with Mayweather in a boxing match too, was flat out ridiculous. How delusional is he?

One thing I really admire about McGregor though is his apparent fearlessness. Gotta give him that if nothing else.

not a lot took those odds. i see on my own facebook page it goes into meltdown when he fights. fair play to him he gathers great support. im a big fan but hes a question mark still imo. if he wins he will change my view on him.
that mayweather thing is a joke. people dont realise how different the sports are. a good boxing friend of mine had an mma fight for charity. he couldnt get near his opponent who was a kickboxer by trade. he just couldnt handle the kicks. transfer that to a world level and you get hurt pretty bad

There was a way smaller crowd at the presser yesterday apparently, though in fairness there are a lot of reasons for that: Lots of travelling fans may have gone to the Euros instead. Olympics on now toO etc, and it's just so expensive to travel that far.
Also if i had tickets to the ufc200 card I'd have been pissed that Conor got thrown off it, so maybe fans won't travel in the same numbers this time.

Maybe all that bottle throwing was staged too, to generate some interest, though I doubt it.

Dana White seemed pissed off with the antics yesterday and the fact that McGregor showed up late, a few guys have got on the wrong side of him in the past (Randy Couture being one) and he made life rough for them.

Yep he did, and if Conor loses again Dana may not be so tolerant of his antics. I think most Irish fans will stay faithful to Conor no matter what , but American fans seem to love front runners only (as proven by their inexplicable love for Jon Jones , despite his terrible behaviour, and their hatred for Daniel Cormier, despite his really good behaviour laugh
so his fanbase stateside might shrink if he loses a few fights.
The UFC will put up with pretty much anything from him if he stays a big pay per view draw though.
