ValidityLindsay, Ontario Canada47 Threads 1 Polls 803 PostsTHESE PEOPLE REALLY INSTILL MY FAITH IN HUMANITY, AND HOPE FOR RELATIONSHIPS!!!!THEY HAVE SPENT THEIR WHOLE LIFE AS HUSBAND AND WIFE TOGETHER.I WORK IN HEALTH CARE,EVERYDAY I SEE HUSBANDS AND WIVES OF MANY YEARS,LOOSE ONE OF THEIR PARTENERS, THESE ARE THE OLD SCHOOLERS,THAT MANY PEOPLE MY AGE CAN LEARN FROM.I SEE IT IN THEIR EYES,HOW DEEP THEIR LOVE RUNS.WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE,THEY ARE BY THEIR LOVED ONE'S SIDE,GENIUNELY,UNTIL THEY FADE FROM THIS EARTH.I ONLY SPENT 12 YEARS WITH MY HUSBAND AND HE PASSED AWAY. THESE ARE THE FOLKS THAT MAKE ME BELIEVE I HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE AT WHAT THEY HAVE, LOVE
So true. My parents have celebrated their 50th anniversary this past summer. Observing them, I see not only how much they love each other, but how much they come to depend on each other. How deep their love for each other has gotten especialy in the last few years. And their love was already deep. There are several couples around here, that have pasted the 50 years together.

My grandparents moved over here from Ireland and stuck it out through thick and thin. When my grandmother died my grandfather lasted maybe 2 more years before he just gave up. My parents were together until my father died...my mother says that he was the only one for her and will not go after another(it's been 26 years). I have been through some relationships but I found my partner in 2000. We had a great 8 years together. Sadly the last 2 years were spent watching her fight against cancer. In August 2008 she lost her battle. I spent as much time as possible with her and had a good job that would allow me to do so. I was in her room as she took her last breath...she did not have to pass away alone. It is a very tough experience but I have to go on living. Love can be found again...I just hope that I will find it again. Cheers to all...

My Grandparents were married over 75 years. They got letters from Prime Ministers, Queens and what not for that sort of thing. 75 years, that is such a long time together.
