on the back of the birth cert, it says void if laminated or altered, didn't see this until after, anyways you cannot even get a passport if it is laminated, so i had to apply for new ones,crying

Yes, you poor baby....I don't understand what is wrong with laminating it. After all, it is only paper, I think, unless now it is made out of material like a credit card. Mine is from 1951 and was similiar to the material of cc. What is it now?

I’m not sure about Ontario but as far as Quebec is concerned only a birth certificate issued after January 1, 1994 is accepted in such a case and yes it can’t be laminated.

The new birth certificates BC is issuing now is that fake paper plastic stuff. Supposed to last a lot longer and be harder to forge. Sucks that you have to order a new one though. $$$$$$$ mumbling

i had to get a birth c in 1962 to get a job in manitobe ..it came already laminated ..i still have it and haint ever had a problem with it ..still carry it but plastic is getting real loose around the edges ,just like me..

They used to come laminated, but they stopped it,and i can see why, mine was getting loose around the edges, that's why i did that aweful mistakewave
