Yes, you poor baby....I don't understand what is wrong with laminating it. After all, it is only paper, I think, unless now it is made out of material like a credit card. I’m not sure about Ontario but as far as Quebec is concerned only a birth certificate issued after January 1, 1994 is accepted in such a case and yes it can’t be laminated.
The new birth certificates BC is issuing now is that fake paper plastic stuff. Supposed to last a lot longer and be harder to forge. Sucks that you have to order a new one though. $$$$$$$ 
i had to get a birth c in 1962 to get a job in manitobe ..it came already laminated ..i still have it and haint ever had a problem with it ..still carry it but plastic is getting real loose around the edges ,just like me..

They used to come laminated, but they stopped it,and i can see why, mine was getting loose around the edges, that's why i did that aweful mistakegordy theoldsillyfosifer
