Juneau: Well, you've opened a whole new can of worms there, if you are stating that you are "full figured"!!

There's been massive debates on here as to what "full figured" or "skinny" or "average" means!! It goes into pages and pages of debate!! I therefore, conclude that that old cliche of "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is perhaps actually true!

I am an old romantic, so yes, I hope that romantic and genuine guys still exist out there! I think that romance and love are very tightly bound though. I would feel really uncomfortable going on a "romantic" type first date. I think you can only truely be romantic with someone that you love and care for, even if that love is just in it's earlist stages. It's a state of mind....not just a bunch of roses and a candlelit dinner.

LOL! Average for me is 33ish! Small- is like 30!

I agree, romance is a state of mind.
I think that if you truly desire something or someone, eventually it gravitates towards you, cause your desire is drawing them to you..
When you say men are only after this and that, your really closing yourself to meet some really great guys out there..so don't be quick to judge cheers

Hawna: In today's world, in my experience, I have found men to be very superficial. I'm a full figured gal and I find men seem to want women who are skinny, tanned, blonde and who make a lot of money.
Are there men out there who, from their heart, say lines like those in books and movies?
Can men really love just one woman? Have eyes for just one woman? I truly wonder if they even exist. Lord knows I haven't met many of them. A rare breed indeed.
dont brush all men over a minority

I have always tried to be as gentle as a man can be however I will say that booze did screw my rep more than twice so I drink a lot less and the naughty thoughts are still there.

It goes both ways Hawna, unfortunately...

I believe in honesty (silly, I know).
If you are after a fling, a one night stand, you should say it, not mislead and make other side believe there is something more there...
Not everyone is into financial benefiting either.
I do believe there are some really nice and decent ppl out there...
And no, gentlemen did not die with the dinosaurs and I think technology is making it easier to find them too, so we should use it to our advantage...

You can't fault people for being attracted to whatever body shape, hair colour, facial feature, or whatever it may be, that turns their crank. It doesn't make anyone any less of a gentleman, or a lady.

There are gentlemen out there...it depends on where you're looking...or not looking...

If I were looking for a diamond ring...I wouldn't go to the corner nickel and dime store...dunno

Being full figured is not a handicap. I have seen many men with full figured wives in the malls.

The problem with full figures is that the person's health may be affected and nobody likes the idea of dating or even marrying someone whose health may be suspect.

I feel there are gentlemen out there, but I feel that one woman's view of what makes a gentleman is not the same as another woman's.

From a man whom considers himself to be a gentleman, KHD100, this is the first time I have found myself not agreeing with your opinion.

romulus I respect that you disagree, but speaking as a female who has discussed with other females, men, you might be surprised at what one woman might call a nice gentleman, another might think quite differently.

One co worker thought men who did somethings like always opening the doors, had impeccable manners, brings flowers and all the other things that is supposed to do, she considered to be a whipped man. Some women do fall for men that showed all the traits of a gentleman but they were not. Were those women stupid? or played by a wolf in sheep clothing? Women have played the same game on men, making men think they are with a real lady and they are not.

JMO, what made a gentlemen in Victorian times, is not the same as what made a gentleman, in the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, till the 2010, have greatly changed.
