Most of us on here make all kinds of friends...some we are a little more than friends with...

My question is...until it becomes "exclusive"..even if you are "chatting" regular with someone on here...do you still "window shop" (chat and meet with other men/women on the site??)

Personally, I would not. If it was a "love interest" that I am chatting regular with on here and expect to meet, I am no longer "looking" until "I", or "we" decide that it isnt meant to be. I still would check the site to see if there was any mail, and probably reply that my status is currently "on hold". I am very much a one man woman...However, if we are just chatting as friends and there is no romantic interest stated by either party, then by all means, keep looking. Am I too old fashioned?dunno

I don't think its "old fashioned"....but i'd be curious to hear the opinions of men on this...

I happen to think that men and women think differently about this...conversing

Yes, i still window shop.

Until it is decided that there's more to the relationship than being friends of course the market is still open. head banger

How would you know the relationship has crossed over to being "more than friends?"

Is there some type of declaration?...Is there any asking "will you be my girlfriend/boyfriend"?

And i'm serious here Puck..not poking fun...i'm genuinely interested how this works...

That is a great question.... that used to be done when we were kids, at least where I'm from. We laugh about stuff like that now but is sure handy. At least you know were you stand, lol.

Well for me, i would ask it. yes i would need to know if it was more than friends....so yes..some sort of verbal acknoledgment that it was more than friends.....almost like time to go steady...as in the old days. do people still do that?. i think that was more a teenage thing but i have been away from this awhile.confused

I remember those days Ange...laugh

However on here...you kind of always start out as "friends" don't you...I mean the "physical" connection is not there to let you guage at what stage your relationship is in...so how do you know when its "crossed over"...

I'm trying to get at specifics on here...and unless the men answer, or the women that have actually gone through it answer...I'm still at a loss...dunno

there's no real relationship until you meet and start that process in person.

If and when i "find" someone...I too will not be interested even in "window" shopping...doesn't mean i won't have friends, but certainly my conversations will be different...and hopefully he will take up enough of my time that i won't have time to "window shop"..laugh

l myself also feel that once you are interested in someone and that person has stated that there is something there and would like to get to know more about each other, well then its time to stop looking and just chat with friends. l am in that situation now, even though we havent met l feel that its the start of a relationship and keping my options open is just not right. Both of us are focusing on only each other and waiting til we meet.

Nope. Even if I am dating someone and getting to know them and even though we are not exclusive right away I don't believe in seing someone else. I guess you can call me old fashioned.

actually i don't, i quit all contact really with others, i give the new "meeting" a chance to work at least. with all other interfering its hard to give someone an equal chance. i would love to get the same treatment, but ive seen i don't get it.
