Unfortunately, I fear it is headed for the ICU. Screen failure is occuring, and with each passing hour my ability to "see" grows dimmer. Once total failure occurs it will easily be 2 to 3 weeks to effect repairs,...snow will probably be flying by then,....the days grow shorter!
A_Non_A_Moose: I have some skills. And thanks for jumping in with help. This unfortunately is screen failure on a laptop. Its a General Dynamics Go-Book XR-1,, an overpriced laptop (touch screen) designed for use in rugged environments. The outer shell has been comprimised. This particular model is prone to an actual slow death of the built-in monitor, especially when comprimised by moisture. I have a wonderful home computer, but I live in a remote area, so without this laptop and its air-card, I will have to return to earth from my journeys in cyber-space!

No,...I didn't spill any coffee! And this laptop - you actually can spill coffee on it and it will be okay! It is quite rugged, something like its owner!But it is cracked (something like its owner) and humidity is getting in through the upper lid. Oh well, a bit of downtime will let me get some work done.
Never did figure out how the lid got cracked though,...maybe it was that time I needed to block up the truck,...hmmmm,..

hey moose ///and others i spilled a glass of 80 buck scotch on my acer keyboard and killed it so i got another puter an went on line .hong kong worked out good ..a new keyboard with freight landed here $11,00 ..bout 2 weeks time good deal
