Marriage has all of the advantages. If the relationship is strong then there is no better feeling than knowing you are going to loved and cared for by your spouse, and her by you.canada wave

Type in advantages of marriage into google,...that will give you the textbook answers,...rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Look into your heart as a man,....enough said,...at least IMHO! That is ALL the advantage required,....really,...look into her eyes and you will now,...if you have the slighest bit of hesitation simply turn and walk away,....

Our we each not valuable enough to warrant a commitment from another? To offer love, friendship and the commitment to another that you want to spend your time and energy with them?

People make commitments all the time in varying degrees - if you honestly don't see the value in another human being to even contemplate that commitment, then you are probably best to simply stay single.

I think most of us forget the comfort that the commitment to marriage brings. I for one, would like that again. canada

I have never forgotten that comfort. I do realize now that it must NEVER be taken for granted - that a marriage is a dynamic entity and does change with the passage of time, and it is so necessary to ensure that communication is maintained in order to address theses changes.

Yeah, Kenn, I hear ya,....

I agree with Moose. You are still in healing and believe it or not, in morning. Give yourself time. Took me 9 yrs before I would consider even going out for a cup of tea/coffee let alone date.

Getting married is like going to the restaurant with friends. You order
what you want, and when you see what the other fellow has, you wish you
had ordered that.

This 57 year old gentleman has another thread that he wrote yesterday saying that he has a 19 year old finance...

Fast healing process from that marriage I would say..
So, time does heal all wounds...laugh canada

To be honest every-one , I have done both . Maried for 4 years with one woman and living together for 18 with another and there is no difference . If you are committed to a person than a piece of paper will not make a difference . I had 3 kids with her I was living with . The only difference is when your living together they can't touch your pension fund ,lol.yay
