I would like to think i'm not a jealous person...however...

Anyhow...lol...what are the types of things that would make you "jealous" (even if you're not usually a jealous person) in a relationship??

I try to think of jealous as another way to spell insecure..

A fear of the future and an exercise in "whut if"...

whut if she's cheating, gonna cheat???? whut if???? be good to know who she is.......

Jealous is not something that belongs in a loving relationship.

It denotes a lack of trust and faith and if directed at me will usually destroy my acceptance of the relationship.

If I see something from my partner that might lead to me feeling jealous I will bring it up and if it turns out to be something real rather then becoming jealous I will act upon that realness and depart.

so i guess either way Jelousy will have destroyed the relationship.

No, not a jealous person and can't stand a jealous/possessive partner...

I like what AB said " It denotes a lack of trust and faith and if directed at me will usually destroy my acceptance of the relationship."

Yes, exactly!

I agree that Jealousy is a form of insecurity. We are all only human and have feelings.

I will be honest and say that sometimes I can get a little jealous. BUT I do have limitations and am not possessive. However if I find that my partner gives me too many reasons to be jealous then normaly it means the relationship is not worth it. Relationships should be about trust and respect and honesty. Not about stress and insecurities.

I like what you have to say Tracy....

I do agree with all that everyone is saying...and like i said i'm not usually a "jealous" person...but at the same time, I will be the first to admit i am only "human"...and a WOMAN to boot...so yes that
"monster" rears its ugly head from time to time...

And like you said Trac if the "jealousy" thing seems to creep in on a regular basis...one is more than likely in the wrong relationship!

Its possible that you love that person so much that you worry about losing them to someone else. That, in and of itself, is not necessarily a bad thing. Its how you respond to it that makes the difference.
Personally, I find someone coming on to my mate is kinda flattering. But its also a reminder to keep it fresh, keep it interesting. Never just settle in when you settle down.

I've never really seen "jealousy" as a game...rather an emotion that you cannot help but feel...however one that can be dealt with differently as one matures....

Is that a fair statement??dunno

I believe every one of us are jealous from time to time.Insecurity is major reason but its how we react to such a emotion.jealousy could drive us crasy if we let it.Jealousy could be flatering to some of us(he cares fo me)but in most cases jealousy can destroy a relationship.Jealousy is a red flag in any relationship so watch out it usally gets worse unless a person gets help. my opinion SEQUIO

That was well put...handshake

I am not a jealous person by nature...but that does not mean I don't get jealous...but you are right...its how you deal with it is what counts...

Personally I give my partner and "whatever woman" plenty of time to "sort it out" before i tear her head off....grin

Lifes to long for silly emotions. Stuff like that will just end up making it longer. And is it really worth the headache?
Me myself I try to live it day by day. Tomorrows anoughter day, the sun will rise again, blah blah blah, etc etc etc. You get the point. I think there were 2 good thinkers of our time. Akuna Matata No worries for the rest of our days.
