They didn't come close to separating, the Bloc Quebecois was done at the time, and the referndum proved it. Quebec can't live without Ontario and the equalisation payments from other provinces, especially Alberta, so it's a dead issue.
Being that it's a free country, they can elect a party of their choice, but that doesn't mean they have the power to do as they please. I don't see it as any more than a waste of taxpayer money, by a new entity wanting to raise the hackles of disenfranchised Quebecers, but I can't see many of them voting to be their own country.
It's too late for the separatists, they should have tried it 100 years ago.

They already voted, and won't do it again. Quebec is fine,they do quite well being a part of Canada. They stir this up every

I feel sad about this devision the fact they don't feel like Canadians and try to make this country united and better.
The older generation indeed refuses to give directions and the younger ones I have heard, laugh when you try to talk in French.

i do not speak french. was raised on the west coast.
