The first wireless signal ever received on signal hill in St. John's. The signal was sent from Poldhu in Cornwall, England on Dec 12th, 1901.

Marble mountain in Corner brook has the best skiing east of the rocky mountains.

Newfoundland and Labrador is actually the same province, though we have our own unique identity's.

Re: About Your Province
I am from Alberta.

1. In 1905 a huge chunk of the NWT was carved out to form a province....but Ottawa freaked out when they realized just how BIG a province it would be, and then quickly grabbed a ruler, and with a quick straight line, Alberta and Saskatchewan came into being.

2. We are also unique in the fact that no other province's name rhymes with Alberta!

3. The HIGHEST peak in Canada is IN ALBERTA! (Except for those higher ones in BC and the Yukon)

4. No one, no province, no state, no COUNTRY has ever come close to throwing a fun and everybody can play winter Olympics like Alberta did in Calgary back in 1988! Eddie the Eagle! Sex in the Streets! The Jamacian Bobsled team! Did I mention all the sex in the streets?

5.More trucks, on a per capita basis, get stuck in Alberta than anywhere else in Canada (North America if the truth be told....)
