Depends on what you want. I rent a 2 bedroom apartment for $625, includes heat, water, and power. It is going up to $725 in December but that is still cheap for these parts.

my friend pays $700 a month for a NICE 1 bedroom in Mill Woods (south edmonton area)... I was paying $450 plus utilities for a 2 bedroom house with full basement in Vegreville (1 hr east of Edmonton) when I lived there - I have friends that commute from Veg to Edmonton daily just because the housing is so much cheaper!

My brother & sister-in-law pay $615 per month plus utilities for a 2 bedroom house here in Vermilion and we are 30 minutes from Lloydminster where there is tons of work but housing is more costly!
