i am working for a big company for 7 months now i have work more then a 1000 hours since september on my pay check they took me EI off

Let say i want to take a month or two off and get on EI
Do the company have to lay me off
or fired me and rehired when i am ready to go back to work

I just want to know how EI works

i had worked b4 under the table

but now i am so confused with the EI

and what EI is good For?

I know i need at least 900 hours to go on EI but it is from january first to december 31

or a year start when you are hired?

As far as the question as to what EI is good for, a lot of Canadians would like the answer to that one.

However, it is supposed to provide assistance to you in the event that you lose your employment after the qualifying time to give you time to find new employment.

The year starts when you are hired.

The best place to find answers would be either your employer or a local employment office.

Good luck.
