Loner1960: I can carve and tool leather, like wallets, belts. Clip the hair on cattle to prepare them for a show.
Loner ... what do you mean by this? Like make a pattern in their hide?
Carving is very interesting ....... my mom has done some wood carving as well as soap stone. My daughter when she was 12 made me a whale out of soap stone .... it was so beautiful.
My dad has done some leather work in the past - I still have the purse that he made for my grandma (the only thing that I've got left from her since she passed away when I was 12) so its pretty special to me.
I myself - alas am not as talented as many of my family members - although to be truthful - I get distracted and start too many projects. I enjoy sewing, crafts, quilting ......don't seem to have too much time for it anymore - but I've keep all my goodies in case the urge to create strikes me.
Well even though I am a cook by trade, I also work on computers, building, maintence, upgrades, things like that, plus as some people on here knows, I also play around making computer doodles, and even some graphic animations

What I mean by clipping hair on cattle? 1st the animals is alive. 2nd the animals is fairly quiet. With a set of clippers, (some are a little bigger than you see at your hair stylist, but more powerful)(some are much bigger) I am basicly triming the hair along the back to make back look straight and flat. Areas that get trimed are hips, shoulders, shoulders, legs, head. Trying to highlite the positive points of the animal and blending in the faults. And a whole bunch of hair spray, and a lot of combing and a bunch of other stuff and the animal is ready to show.

The detail on the belt is awesome. You do have a talent with leather work.
