When you meet someone - does the fact that they may or may not have pets influence your possible attraction to them? And... for those of us that do have pets - if your dog or cat (or magpie in my case) didn't like your prospective date - would that affect how you felt about the person?

It doesnt bother me if they dont have animals but if my dogs take an instant dislike to someone l dont trust them either. Dogs have a way of sensing a persons true nature.

Yep - cats are like that too - my dogs always act like they are starved of attention and affection so I tend to trust the cats judgement a bit more

Yes..the last woman i met had 3 cats, they all lived in the house and slept on her bed, which for me is a total turnoff.the house reaked of cat smell when i walked in.
i think all pets belong outside..i have a maltese terrior and a dingo and they never venture inside.they are well looked after and spoilt and walked daily.

My dogs are a very friendly crew...so if they dont like someone l believe them, my old Burmese cat is a good judge of character also.

You are so lucky having a Dingo... l think they are superb looking animal..head banger
I have 3 cats, all aged that live iside but in a spare beedroom not mine. Thier is no smell from them as everything is kept as clean as possible. Inside animals dont have to create smells, at least they dont if everything is kept clean.

we have one at an office I work at. I love her, she had a baby earlier.

She scratched through the ceiling and made a little hole in it.. funny as, I looked up oneday and saw possum fur sticking out the hole.. rolling on the floor laughing

I hear her trip trapping around while Im working. I wont let the boss evict her until he's put a possum box up.

Hi Wysterious, I know you're probably looking for replies from males rather than females but I can tell you if a prospective male partner has certain types of dogs (bulldogs, cross staffies, and big dogs with bad reputations) I just don't even consider them. I have a very tiny female pomeranian called Pixie and her needs and comforts definitely influence my thinking..... Buffybear

remember the possum at my house that flooded... after we pulled of the rest of the ceiling it got in the roof insulation and my car was parked in the carport and I heard stuff hitting my bonnet...when I checked it out there was a possum tail hanging through a holelaugh

if my dog doesnt like someone, well there must be something definitely wrong as she likes almost everyone!

Actually was out walking last week and she actually shied away from a female, first time I have actually seen her try to avoid someone.

Needless to say I didnt start up a conversation with the woman!

Yes I do pay attention to how animals react to people, they are intuitive and dont allow their emotion sto cloud their judgement like people can.
Owning pets is not a neccesity, but loving animals is
