Not entirely about the kids... it's the fact, that he's manipulated it where I have to re organise the things that I had planned.... and yes Curly, for those of us that have been good we get rewarded... thank gawd, he's a very understanding individual and doesn't mind having my kids around ... and if he did.... hmmm that's another story...

Yes I am pissed off, because I know that it's not all work related...work is monday to saturday, but 2 lots of weekends... yeah, give me a break...mumbling

And then you go the other way. Mate is on 1 month holiday.

Agreement is every 2nd weekend and he pays child support. Fact is he has his son 5 nights per week, pays child support, regularly has to buy him clothes, the school contacts him first because she is never available and is recognised as having 51% of child care. My maths learning might be old-fashioned but still can't work out using computer programs how 5/7 = 51%.

She took him off on a holiday for 2 weeks recently on very short notice and demanded that he pay the airfare, accomodation and all other expenses while they are away in sunny Qld. And complained whenever his son rang him for a chat.

Just the week before he went, she demanded that he make all the arrangements for "baby sitters" while he is away even though she knew months in advance that he would be away.

I have one week in March every year I have off and one extra long weekend in August and they have been fixed for the last 10 years. Most of my other holidays are planned 12 months in advance and I let people know what I am planning well in advance so that they can make suitable arrangements (took basically none until my kids grew up).

But when a decision is made to take a holiday which may impact on others, communication is really needed.

I think its bad kids havin to go from 1 to the other. They should grow up with either one, or the other. JMO of course.

Probably what my ex would say. Then again, I was going through massive depression from the breakup (her choice, not mine). And then being in hospital to have a tumor removed and she complained that she had to bring the chidren along to see me. "Why should I drive 15 minutes to take them there when your brother had a 1 hour drive each way (and I have never wanted anything to do with him) couldn't take them?"

Oh, yes. I am so glad those days are over. My daughter and I have a very close relationship and I am so glad the way things have worked out.teddybear

You know Tony I would agree with you, if they are younger, but, teenagers have the choice who they wish to be with... one prefers to live with me and the other divides his time between the 2 homes, it's an arrangement that normally works well, but like Wash says.. you have to have communication.. but when it comes to Asia there is no communication until he's boarding a plane or in this case .. I have a child who'se normally not here on Mondays telling me what his father is doing...frustrated

thumbs up thumbs up thumbs up

With all you hear about 'arrangements','visitation rights', 'mediation' and 'access' put in place for separated parents, you have to wonder if many people consider what the kids think of it, to-ing and fro-ing from one house to another doh

I feel deeply sorry for these children, it must be unsettling for them and it seems that once they are old enough to make their own decisions, it soon fizzles out.

Yes like I said JMO. Maybe if they never seen the other parent that problem wouldnt arise. I brought up my 3 girls with the help of my Mum, Bless her soul. Course she was an alcoholic, bless her soul too.

My mum wasn't an alhoholic, but never rely on a converstaion after 4pm. It was easier to accept it as old-timers.smitten drinking
