Where was it and why was it the best?

Mine was when I was young, well 20 years ago on the Frankston beach with a lovely young lady eating chips and feeding the gulls followed by some heavy snogging and a little bit extra rolling on the floor laughing

Must admit to having a few dates on Carrum Beach.

But I think the best so far was at The Poplars restaurant just out of Mittagong, NSW. After going past it for 40+ years, I finally went there on a date weekend (they have a motel as well). We dumped our cases in the motel (double bed) and went for a drive and look at shops in Bowral and Berrima first. Getting back, our bags had been moved. But a quick check and the owners had installed a King Size bed, getting ready for the Olympic Basketball team that was about to use it as a training base camp.

We went to the restaurant and had a great meal, as I was hoping after all those years. But I do live in hope that the "best date" is just around the corner. sad flower

Out and about with a girlfriend one night and we met two guys, one of whom I immediately thought 'Ooh he's cute grin '

They were flatmates as it turned out and by the end of the night the not-as-cute one asked me out and I thought, why not.

As Christmas drew nearer, the cute one had started a new job and asked me if I would consider accompanying him to his work Christmas party? Just as a friend, of course.

Like, yeah baby thumbs up laugh

It was a lovely night, he was a true gentleman at the same time knowing that I had started dating his flatmate (although I already knew that wasn't going anywhere).

So when the new year came around, I was going out to celebrate with some friends and, taking a deep breath, asked the cute one if he would like to come .. life's short I thought to myself cool

And he said yeah, he'd love too applause

And no, I didn't see the other guy any more drinking

That's one accessory you never see being installed in those Block and Grand Design shows - a pole to dance on.
