Obscuritan: They figure they have a captive audience as most have spent too much going out on Friday and Saturday night, so they show crap on all those nights.
Obsi hun,
Noooooo.... the Voice and I am not a tele watcher, but I love having it on, and I have my favourites...
So I look forward to the Voice on Monday nights... did not see it all, and that's OK... its a bit long anyway, but I do love good voices... Thought that being you are into music, you would be watching it...
Funny enough I also love Monday nights trouble is my programs sorta converge so now I record the Voice as my G.daughter loves it, we will zip through the endless ads and the too many boring songs.
Love Paul Murry live on skye news, one of the panel is Mark Latham, what a hoot he was tonight' he stated that the Libs should bring back Peter Costello as leader with his smart laid back attitude' keep Abbott on but as his Deputy... and use him as the attack dog and Libs would do it so very easy.
Just realised one of the things that Tony Abbott does when he is trying so hard to get his point across is look like he is a chook pecking into the air that nodding of his head is not a nice look.

Actually I watched a documentary about the living planet? It was all about plants and evolution, in a quick brief here, the plants were dieing until the developed leafs? Then our carbon atmosphere became more high in oxygen creating large growth in insects and animals, can you imagine a dragonfly with a one metre wing span? Or a mosquito with a 30 cm wing span? Spiders the size of a large dog!

An even better choice - all TVs have an off switch.
No matter what is broadcast or by whom, the intention is to either dumb you down or misinform you. See Peter Finch's 1975? movie "Network" it was prophetic.
After "the Block" the telly is locked on channel 2 Monday nights for Aus story, 4 corners and Q&A I loved last weeks Q&A with Barry Jones stealing the limelight and the laughs but he did get a bit too much of the time on as I think Tony is part of his mutual admiration society
Most nights I turn my television off at 7pm and turn it on again at 8.30pm. There is nothing, absoutely nothing, worth watching. Fortunately Monday to Thursday I am out training until 9pm anyway, unless I am unable to train for some reason. On those nights when I am home, it is a desert of drivel reality shows, American situation comedies and Australian 'family' shows and soap operas that are less entertaining than watching paint dry.

kizzy27: I just saw an advert for the upcoming new series ...."Being Lara Bingle" ARE YOU FOR REAL!!!! Who would watch that tripe!! OMG
Watch out for the newest show "Being Obscuritan". Some will find it rivetting others will be bored to tears! None can bring themselves to turn it off. Compelling viewing.
robplum: Well i just watched and very much enjoyed tonight's Q&A program
I never thought much of Barnaby Joyce.
Simon Crean, on the otherhand, I thought of as one smart cookie.
Big change of opinion by me.
Barnaby seemed to be very honest when talking about the Aboriginal rights and was very honest when asked about gay marriages. He said what he felt and not the "politically correct" answer. Simon was stuck next to the Aborigine (great nephew of Mabo) and seemed to try to get to the next seat away whenever he had to address him. And also seemed like he was a bit worried and had a few before the live show.
The Greenie was voicing much as I would have expected, especially when Crean said that the Mining Tax would be spread throught all regions except where it originated from. Looks like Tassie is going to be the biggest winner, as hinted strongly by Crean.
Biggest contradiction was when the Rural Lady brought up the issue of the loss of prime agricultural areas to mining. Crean's answer was that we will get Mining and Carbon Taxes to give to Tassie. And then said that the overseas employment opportunities (aka "we hate mining companies) will let us be the Food Bowl of the World.
Watched the closest film to "The Castle" I've seen - "Secondhand Wedding" it's a blast. Set in NZ, it's about a garage sale alholic whose daughter is set on not having a 2nd hand wedding, it's got great characters and side stories all converging on the final wedding day.

Because of the lack of anything decent on free to air - I changed to Foxtel, yep, 100 odd channels to choose from, and it wasn't any better - I did like the movie channel - no commercials... now I have no foxtel, and I barely watch tv - even if I do have 20 odd channels to watch, it's all repeats or full of reality programmes -
