Hi ah,

How do we get to pay for their infrastructure, when for years they have made a profit from us ... and now they want more..

I am soooo confused about it... I mean, if I did not maintain my house, but charged others rent to live in it, when the house starts to fall down, I now charge rent and more... ??? HUH... how did this happen...confused

I think in all probability sooner or later there will a war with China on the other side of it. Tis i think bound up in time, unless your pope and all of the modern western nations are willing to summit to Chinese control, which is extremely unlikely, then should you move to China you better make sure you've got a really good bomb shelter...

Inflation is driven by supply and demand, the only reason real estate values have climbed so high is the thrives running the country have been supporting very high levels of migration. (and I don't mean boat people) It is why there has been such a colossal expansion and creation of new residential suburbs in Southern Queensland, other cities to. That is all based on a stupid unsustainable belief jobs jobs jobs creates a bigger income tax base and is therefor better for exploiting more and more of Australia's assets. Creates more supply and demand for ever more migration and a erosion of Australian values

The Chinese are very shrewd business people... my recollection when ex, was dealing with the chinese government officials is they prefer to that the Europeans deal with an agent... (I think it had more to do with graft and corruption in government levels...grin)

Housing may be cheap, but having friends that live in Shanghai, their unit is very dismal compared to the luxurious of their unit they had in JB, Malaysia... plus to work over there, you have to have the necessary paperwork, visas etc., and unlike Au that allow overseas to fill in form x, y, and z, filling in paperwork over there, needs lawyers to read the fine print, job wise, housing wise, and anything else wise...

Going Solar not a bad idea... if you can afford it, interesting how the prices went up and the government rebate went down...

Had one Lady today, talk about Human Services lump sum payment for Carbon Tax - she received 280 dollars.. those sitting around the table in the staff room all agreed, although some had received more and others received less, that it is a joke...considering like gst everything will go up...coffee2 groundhog

Hi Curly,

We know this will happen, why think it wont... but I think there will come a time, when honest hardworking people call it a day, and create our own civil revolution...

I mean we dont have guns bombarding us, but we are being attacked on all sides with the price increases... and when it gets to a point, when our wages just cover our bills, and then having to cut back on food, because clearly the bills overtake...

I think that is close now.. and then when we Aussies realize the shirt is being ripped off our backs... then we will in true Aussie style... REVOLT. australia

But I don't think we can blame other countries for selling us out, when it is our government selling us out with trade agreements, foreign policies etc.,

Maybe our Federal Government should stop protituting themselves and look after our own needs - farmers, local industries, retailers (particularly the small ones) then maybe we can have our national pride back and be the country we once was, and that is, self sufficient and self reliant, after all isn't that why we have so many people moving here because they have this daft idea that Australia is the place of plenty... plenty of what...???

We are unfortunate to have had a Prime Minister 40 years ago (Whitlam) who had vision for the Australian people. Unfortunately, he tried to do so much in a very limited time before he was seen to be too radical for us. And most unfortunately, the policies he implemented have not really been looked at closely and not been revised, and what the overall affect has on us. So we suffer.

And successive Govts have not really looked at the impacts of decisions of 40 years ago. Hawke, Keating, Rudd & Juliar have tried to regain the momentum, they were thought to be good in the past so must work now. The wheels have rusted but they tried a bit of oil to keep it going.

Fraser and Howard tried to get the train back on track, but too much had been done with our polcies that some changes had to be made. Howard sold off a lot of our assets, as did many State Premiers from both sides.

Should we be selling off our assets to cover our debts or should we retain them to pay off our debts? You voted them in, you accept their decisions.frustrated frustrated

I would disagree with the last comment. Politicians are paid to raise the electors concerns in Parliament. They are not paid to express either party or there own opinions, and until the electors stand together and demand politicians actually do what they are paid to do, our democratic process will continue to decline, jmo

wash2u: Suffering from the pre-election local govt blues. Time to get those votes rolling in for the next 3/4 years. Blame "the Committee" for something not being done. More importantly, I tried. Really?

So blame the staff because they won't deliver. They can't respond so go for it, mate.

"Give us the money and we might be able to deliver." Oops, we are not alowed to say that. How about "Due to budget limitations, the current budget has not provided for us to undertake that for you during this financial year. We will be seeking funds in the upcoming budget." (Don't hold your breath, Council will give us zip if you expect us to put a new playground for your child, the only one within 50kms of this backwater.)

ok laugh but the chairman of the board still has to answer to the board members, even if the board members have to sleep with the enemy for the good of all.. If you like the big picture..
Isn't it great that we live in a democracy and not a dictatorship .... So in effect our government is sleeping with the enemy for the greater good of all..

So if the nearest playground is 50km away.. There must be a valid reason ..??..lolhummm..lol
so is China a afe place to live... Well i can think of worst places, and they are ruled by religious fantastics or dictatorships
again jmo..lol

Yep , good time for the dogs as well , because they will enjoy meat that you have to chuck out . Meat gets real tasty when its kept too long not frozen . As for the water in China , I would like to think while having my morning pee that I was the first to pee the pee !

Hi mate congratulations grand-dadlaugh
Other night got to chat with both my sons, first ever, last saw them 1994 and enjoyed chat for hour or so, one in Adelaide other in Nepal, was good.

Been trying to replace Chinese chainsaws bar and chain, not so easy even after pushing buy now button on eBay a week ago have since then been trying to figure out what sprocket it actually has. The saw came with something other than manual stated and one link missing a 21 BP chain with only 71DL, errr, seventeen cutters on one side and eighteen other, currently have a Carlton K3 on it and that seems to fit the sprocket ok so now does appear to have 0.325 pitch i.e. sprocket. Been trying to purchase GB 20" Bar to fit-tit.

Other months drama was trying to source a charger that would actually fully charge a small bike battery (9Amh) YB9-b, finally resolved after purchasing a CTEK 8 stage charger, it has the ability to charge at 0.8amp.

China has a defence pack with Pakistan, it is along with Russia supplying arms to ASSAD in Syria, still ongoing stand-off in the Philippine, China backs the Taliban and Iran to, has nobbled most the mineral resources throughout most of Africa, has access and support for supply from Communist Brasil, so China can complete construction of there three or four incomplete Aircraft Carrier's even if Australia ceases ion or coal ore supply, bound up in time mate

If you have a lazy $6,000 - $10,000 grand sitting around, then install the solar hot water, solar panels and battery bank inverters etc...

Me, I'm happy to go back to pre-green coal power as it provided me with cheaper power without a @#$%it subsidy for wealthy people solar surcharge on the end of my power bill.

As we have it now, the wealthy home owners and income earners have the subsidised cheap green power while the pensioners and single parents are stuck paying off their folly via exorbitant power prices.
